Bud Lyon: Ranch Riding Pattern Practice
Video went behind u. Can’t see what u were doing after a certain point. Was good info till then
I think it’s really important to make the distinction between Pleasure/Reining and the Ranch classes in order to not dilute what should always reflect a working horse doing its job on the ranch.
Absence makes the horse grow fonder
What happened? Lost him!!! Can you repost? Thank you
Cody is a great teacher!!!
:)
Do you want. Total horse?
Total horse 🐴 total 🐎 total horse 😮
Godamnit you beat me to it.
Love these videos y’all do! One thing I would love to hear at the beginning of these videos (not just this one) is the Horse’s age and maybe how long it’s been doing x… I think that’s helpful for the viewer to set their expectations of their own horse :)
Someday, I'll take you horseriding...
This is not Boyd Rice. Who the fucking shit is this?
I am a new horsewoman and still learning. Ken you have taught me so much with your videos I have watched other videos but it just didn’t resonate with me. Your videos seem to get me connected to what you are saying. And the fact you trust God is a very big deal to me too. Thank you!
love will change the world
why did a horseman cross the road
That’s a little like letting your horse decide how things are to be. I guess you can get tired of stupidity around all the time. If you really believe in it though… Who is the decision maker of your program?? You should be not us.
Amazing content 👌 ❤ 🐎 for ever
Wow I was doing it wrong
This got cut off. Would like to have seen the full discussion. And the horse seemed to startle at the cutoff point.
Noreen
Look. Silenus
Not
You.
And then there’s the spur stop. Completely backwards from the seat stop. It just depends on what discipline your riding. I use both but not on the same horse. If you ever ride someone else’s horse for the first time, make sure to ask what kind of stop he knows. I’ve made that mistake before…gelding took off with me when I gave him a little heel to stop. My friend said, “oh, he’s green. He doesn’t know how to stop yet” 🤣
Very good information! Roy Rogers talked quite a bit about how a horse has two brains, one for each eye and they're most familiar with you on their left brain or eye because that's where you spend most of your time with your horse.
How much cist horse for bigginer?
O
The super geese reilly fool because recess electrophoretically slow within a hypnotic shake. ill-informed, dramatic margaret
Can y’all make demonstration video and give more details
We have Western dressage demonstrations available on Horse&Rider OnDemand!
If the horse is trained by putting it behind the vertical and pulling on the reins or yanking to force a head carriage, it is NOT western dressage and does not reflect its ideals. It is unfortunate that this is not better understood at every level including by top pros.
The palomino looks like my old horse to

Don't make it about the horse trailer. Get the horse to think being in the horse trailer is the safest place to be. Keep him busy and then ask him to go in. Don't expect him to go in right away. First the head, then the feet and once he's in let him alone.
I like you! It would be easy for you to get your subs up with P r o m o s m!!!
That horse looks like spirit
Good stuff there cowboy

YAY!! We are so glad that you all have this on UA-cam so that we can show our Nana (grandmother)! She doesn't have a computer or smartphone, but she does have a smart tv that has UA-cam. So this is PERFECT!!
Amazing ❤️
When we counter canter this one horse when we ask him to bend to the inside he wants to change leads to that direction. Any suggestions?
Hi Gerry! I have this problem too. The main thing is to look at his hands: inside hand is straight back, outside hand is up. With a counter canter, the horse must be completely straight otherwise he will become unbalanced. Therefore, keeping your outside hand up opens his shoulder to maintain the counter canter and keeping your inside hand straight back helps his body stay straight. If you need to do a square or soft corner in the counter lead, work on moving the hip instead of the shoulders/head. Hope this helps!
Thanks a lot for this
